I must say Sir, you certainly are up on your movie lore. Darin Morgan who wrote that X-files episode used the name of said unfortunate scriptwriter for the main character as an inside joke. Also according to wikipedia: “The names of characters Detective Havez and Detective Cline were also references to a writer and director from that era [i.e. silent movie era]“

Dear Rüdiger,

It is true that I am an aficionado of Mr Cholmondley-Warner. He seems like a Stout Fellow with some sound Commonsense opinions on the problems facing us.

I also recommend the public service clips on the Problems of the Fairer Sex that were mentioned in the preceding post. Very enlightening.

And thank you for informing me about the sale of alleged Hitler paintings. It’s a pity the article didn’t show what the paintings actually looked like. The Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation has a clip giving a glimpse of them. The fact that all the paintings have different styles of signature apparently does not bother either the auctioneers or the buyers too much – perhaps I am too suspicious.
